Arnon Grunberg Wines is the partnership between the writer Arnon Grunberg and wine entrepreneur Aris Derksen, proprietor of Winter Business Group from Madrid, Spain (interim managers for the wine industry).
Arnon Grunberg and Aris Derksen have created together a series of wines which have been elaborated in places, where the sun, the soil, the water and the wind make it perfect to grow grapes, produce wines and write books.
Together they called upon the savvy and expertise of the legendary owner of the family winery Marques de Griñon (www.pagosdefamilia.com) Mr. Carlos Falcó y Fernandez de Córdova, marquis of Griñon, to make the first wine in a series of wines under Grunberg’s name. On the family estate of the Marques de Griñon in Madrid they have created together a unique blend based on the Syrah and Garnacha grapes.
Arnon Grunberg Wines is the general name for a series of terroir wines. The first wine in this series carries the name of FREUD. FREUD hit the international markets at the end of June 2010 kicking off in the home country of the writer. Grunberg and Derksen reached an agreement with Vinites in Haarlem (www.vinites.com) for the exclusive distribution of the Arnon Grunberg Wines in Holland. Other European markets follow soon. The US, where Grunberg has lived and worked since 1995 in New York City, will be targeted this fall.
